This dataset identifies locations of known solar installations. It includes both photovoltaic (PV) and solar hot water installations. The location may not fall in the exact placement of the solar equipment, especially on larger parcels, or parcels with equipment in multiple locations. This dataset only includes active installations. This dataset will be updated quarterly with new installations and to remove records for installations that have been retired. This dataset is different than the similar Solar Installation Permits dataset maintained by ISD (https://data.cambridgema.gov/d/whpw-w55x). That dataset includes all permits filed for Solar Installations in OpenGov, the City’s electronic permitting system, whether the systems are installed yet or not. The ISD dataset only includes solar installation permits from 2018 (when the City began using electronic permitting) onwards, while this dataset includes all known solar installations since 1998.
